Being one of the six original kiln styles in Japan, Tokoname clay teapots date back over 900 years ago to the Heian Period. The clay inside reacts with tannins in the tea to decrease bitterness. Imbued with the local charm of the Tokoname region, each kyusu becomes more lustrous with use and comes to reflect the individual character of its owner. Carefully crafted in Aichi prefecture, the teapot is well thought through and has a mesh lining filter inside.
