DUE TO HIGH DEMAND, THIS TEA IS SOLD OUT

Shifu, how did you achieve for this tea to have such an exceptional taste? So sweet and soft, with notes of chocolate, – a young monk asked the wise tea master Lao Cha

—This wasn’t difficult. I just had to find an ecologically friendly place, far away from the dust and pollution of the cities. Where there is green as far as the eye can see. Then I had to cultivate the tea bushes at the height of 1500 meters. Harvest only the finest tea leaves. And finally, patiently process these leaves with the greatest care. Simple. – Lao Cha answered.

We are proud to carry this extraordinary tea. The tea's unmistakably balanced flavor and rounded taste make it a favorite amongst many.

"Golden Leaf" Dian Hong grows high up at 1500 meters in the mountains of Yunnan. Farms and greenery spread over hundreds of kilometers away from any pollutants. The atmosphere is quiet, misty, and tranquil. The soil is moist and full of nutrients. It ensures that the tea trees enjoy the purest natural surroundings.

Yunnan is known for its perfect tea growing conditions and for being one of the first birthplaces of tea. While sipping some of our Dian Hong Black Tea, you savor superb quality tea and consume centuries of tea history and culture.

Yunnan red tea is one of the most renowned categories of Black tea in China. Our Dian Hong is a signature tea that will give you a great tasting experience.

One of the main differences between Dian Hong and other types of Chinese black tea is the number of leaf buds - called "Golden Tips" - in the dried tea. It leads to this tea's distinctive sweet and rich fragrance.

Our Dian Hong goes through traditional processing. Framers pick the fresh leaves in the morning. They then spread them and let them rest. Next is the rolling phase, where the leaves are continuously turned and pressed. The leaves then are left to ferment for hours. Fermentation is the key process that forms black tea's color, aroma, and taste and defines its quality. Only sufficient fermentation can bring out red tea's well-known sweet taste and rich, complex fragrance, sealed and intensified in the last phase of drying the tea leaves.

This "Golden Leaf" Dian Hong Chinese black tea has tight and plump leaves in luscious black, covered in golden hairs that ooze a vivid golden-orange tea soup. The rich fragrance hints of sweet potato and subtle flowers. The taste is complex yet balanced, with cocoa and ripe fruit notes. It covers the palate in a mellow, rounded mouthfeel, leaving a lasting sweetness with hints of chocolate in the throat.
