Chasen Matcha Whisk

$24.00

Chasen (茶筅) is an integral part of Chanoyu (茶の湯) – Matcha Tea preparation. This is an 80-prong chasen whisk. It is used in a zigzag motion to dissolve powdered matcha in water in a bowl. Whisk in a chawan or alternative deep bowl for best results.

When not in use, allow drying on a chasen kusenaoshi. This helps support the shape and protects the fine tines from breakage.

Recommended: For best results, soak the prongs in warm water for at least a few minutes before every use to soften the tips.

Good!

A good replacement for my old chasen that has now gone out of order due to negligence. I will take good care of it...

well-crafted

I'm happy with this chasen. The price is a lot friendlier than other chasen I've seen, but after I received it I was convinced that it doesn't lack in quality and is very well made. I recommend it for all your matcha needs.

Hagi Celadon Chawan Matcha Bowl

A deep, wide chawan provides enough room for the chasen to move back and forth effortlessly, producing froth and dissolving the matcha powder. While traditional Hagi is often known for its milky white or loquat-colored glazes, this chawan features a Celadon glaze, resulting in a vibrant turquoise-blue with a dense network of fine lines called Kannyu (貫入)
