— Sifu, how did you achieve for this tea to have such an exceptional taste? So sweet and soft, with notes of chocolate, – a young monk asked the wise tea master Lao Cha
—This wasn’t difficult. I just had to find a place with a pristine environment, far away from the dust and pollution of the cities. Where there is green as far as the eye can see. Then, I had to cultivate the tea bushes at a height of 1800 meters. Harvest only the finest tea leaves. And finally, patiently process these leaves with the greatest care. Simple. – Lao Cha answered.
Golden Buds Jin Ya Dian Hong comes from the serene Lida Ecological Tea Garden in Fengqing, Yunnan, perched 1800 meters above sea level. It's a picturesque setting, with misty mornings, pure air, and fertile soil – ideal conditions for exceptional tea.
Dian Hong (滇红) means Yunnan Red – "Dian" is a historical abbreviation for Yunnan. The tea is crafted from Feng Qing Da Ye Zhong (凤庆大叶种), a local large-leaf cultivar (Camellia sinensis var. Assamica) renowned for its rich flavor profile. The picking standard for this tea focuses on one tender bud and occasionally one bud with one young leaf, ensuring the finest material for processing.
What sets Golden Buds Jin Ya Dian Hong apart is its well-rounded and harmonious flavor. The tea offers mild maltiness, subtle chocolate notes, and a light floral aroma. Its perfect balance is one of its defining features — no single element dominates.
Golden Buds Jin Ya has also earned recognition, winning a Silver Medal at the Global Tea Championship – an acknowledgment of the craftsmanship and quality of the tea.
