The Heart Sutra Cha Hai, also known as a Gong Dao Bei, is a beautifully crafted piece (part of our "Heart Sutra" set). It is made from unglazed Dehua ZhuNi clay. The unglazed finish showcases the natural beauty of the clay and allows it to interact with the tea, enhancing the flavor and aroma.
Adorned with the Heart Sutra, an important Buddhist text, the exterior features intricate etchings that add a spiritual element to your tea. The script brings a sense of contemplation. The interior of the Cha Hai contrasts beautifully with the exterior, and the detailed script creates a visually striking piece that delights the senses.
Called "Fairness Cup", in Gong Fu Cha, this piece is essential. It allows to decant tea from the gaiwan before serving it into individual cups, ensuring that every participant gets the same brew. This process ensures a consistent flavor and prevents over-brewing.
The Dehua ZhuNi clay helps maintain the tea's temperature and enhances its taste, and the unglazed surface develops a unique patina over time, reflecting the history of teas poured through it. This clay works particularly well with Wuyi Oolongs.
