The Iron Glaze Gilded Gaiwan (part of our "Bronze" series), features a metallic texture in antique bronze, offering a refined retro elegance. At first glance, it might be mistaken for bronze or copper, but this exquisite piece is actually made from pottery. Crafted from aged clay sourced from Dehua, the Gaiwan undergoes a high-temperature reduction firing process combined with a gilded iron glaze. This process results in a distinctive appearance that highlights the artisanal quality of the piece.
The Gaiwan's surface has a textured finish, enhancing its tactile appeal and visual richness. The lid has small perforations, allowing for efficient tea straining directly from the Gaiwan. The spout is integrated into the rim, ensuring a smooth pour without compromising the vessel's sleek profile.
