A Cha Shao (茶勺 – tea scoop) is used during the tea ceremony to transfer tea from the tea container to the Cha He or from Cha He into the tea brewing vessel. Keeping a separate utensil for the transferring of tea ensures that no other aromas get imparted on your tea leaves prior to brewing.
It also serves as a Cha He — a vessel for tea introduction. Take a look at the tea in the cha he, smell it, feel the fragrance. It allows for the ceremony participants to evaluate the tea that they will be drinking.
This tea holder scoop is hand-crafted from bamboo. It is ergonomic and long-lasting. The shape of each bamboo scoop is unique.
