"Golden Monkey" Jin Hou Black Tea
A young monk once asked the wise tea master Lao Cha:
— Sensei, is there anything in this world that is so good, that you can never get tired of it?
— There is, young man. It’s Jin Hou Black Tea.
Fujian province Golden Monkey black tea is made following a long process of sun-withering, rolling, fermenting, and drying fresh buds and leaves of Fuding Pekoe. The tea’s deep and unique flavor is prominent through every sip.
The name Golden Monkey comes from the fuzzy golden tips of the tea, which resemble monkey claws. The slow unfurling of these bright tea leaves is very pleasant to the eye during brewing.
Our Golden Monkey black tea comes from a tea garden in Fujian which is completely surrounded by mountainous forests and a coastal climate. The abundant rainfall and mild temperatures ensure conditions perfect for growing this tea.
On the first sip we taste a rich and aromatic black tea flavor. Subsequently, we get a mellow sweetness which lingers on throughout the following brews. A delightful option for black tea enthusiasts and those new to it.
